The Zandvoort Formule

Everything must give way for the event that will put the city of Zandvoort back on the map: the Formula 1 Grand Prix. As the whole village prepares for the return of this prestigious race, the impending arrival of the coronavirus threatens to throw all their ambitious plans into disarray.

Wytzia and I worked together on three films, with hopefully a lot more to come. She is a very collaborative director who loves to work together even in the conceptual phase of the film. In the case of The Zandvoort Formula, the covid-19 virus completely changed the third act of the film and we had to fully re-imagine the ending. But together we were able to fix and even improve on it with mostly existing material, to give the film a surprisingly optimistic conclusion.

We also worked together on ‘De onbegrijpelijke dood van Mitchel‘ and ‘Omarm Me‘.
