In a world where fantasy meets reality, Tengkwa leads a band of Dutch wrestlers and tries to train a new generation. But with slim chances of fame and glory and little money to speak off, only the most die-hard of them will succeed.

This is the second collaboration with director Willem Baptist. We tend to nerd out about the same stuff like good cooking knives, great coffeebeans, weird b-movies and 80s pop culture. So this was straight up my alley, especially because I love delving into the more surreal and imaginary sides of documentary film. Willem likes to straddle the line between the fantastical and the absurdly real in his films, but even more he absolutely loves to confuse you by not letting you know which is which. And I adore that.

Willem and I also worked on ‘Guy Weizman – Before / After‘.

"It's comedy, it’s drama, but more than that it is our whole society with all it’s idiosyncrasies in one ring. We gladly let ourselves be bamboozled by this charming documentary."

Alexander Zwart - Filmkrant

"Astounding glimpse into the violent and heroic world of show-wrestling. Even those who are not interested in the subject won’t be able to keep their eyes off the screen."

Circle of Dutch Film Critics

"Documentary about show-wrestling hits hard and is at moments even endearing."

Kevin Toma - Volkskrant
